Not sure if others feel the same, but with layoffs and AI adoption rising in the US, the future of work feels a bit uncertain lately.
It seems like we’re at a turning point, and I keep wondering whether AI will ultimately help people earn more or make it harder for most to stay competitive.
Do you think AI will create more opportunities than problems financially over the next 5 years?
Your concern is valid, layoffs and AI adoption together naturally create uncertainty because the transition period is always uneven.
In the next 5 years, AI will likely do both: replace some routine roles, but also create new roles in automation, data, AI operations, and creative-technical hybridid work.
Financially, the people who adapt early tend to gain more opportunities, while those who don’t may feel more pressure in competitive fields.
So it’s less about AI being “good or bad” for jobs, and more about how quickly individuals and companies adjust.
The bigger shift won’t just be job loss — it will be job transformation.
