Hear me out before you downvote. You lock up your money for 30+ years. You pay fees you

I get the frustration, but this argument ignores one uncomfortable reality: most people are terrible at consistently investing on their own without structure or forced discipline. Yes, fees and llimited flexibility can be frustrating, but long-term retirement accounts were built to protect people from emotional decision-making and lifestyle inflation. The real issue isn’t whether the system is perfect, it’s whether most individuals would actually outperform it after taxes, timing mistakes, and decades of inconsistent behaviourr.
