I use AI regularly, but mostly as a research assistant rather than letting it make investment decisions for me.
ChatGPT and Perplexity have been helpful for quickly understanding companies, industry trends, earnings reports, and comparing different viewpoints. They save a lot of time that would otherwise be spent digging through articles and reports.
That said, I still don’t fully trust AI-driven trading bots with complete control over my portfolio. Markets are influenced by human behavior, unexpected events, and sentiment shifts that algorithms don’t always handle well.
My biggest win with AI has been faster research and better decision-making. My biggest concern is that many investors may become overconfident and treat AI outputs as financial advice without doing their own due diligence.
For the rest of 2026, I think we’ll see AI become a standard layer in investing—similar to how spreadsheets became a standard tool. The winners won’t be people who blindly follow AI, but those who know how to combine AI insights with human judgment and risk management.
AI is a great co-pilot. I’m not convinced it’s ready to be the pilot yet.
