AI Stocks vs. Dot-Com Bubble: Are current AI stock valuations creating a new market bubble, or are strong earnings, real-world adoption, and technological advances making this different from the dot-com crash of 2000?

The biggest difference between today’s AI boom and the dot-com era is that many leading AI companies are generating substantial revenue, strong cash flow, and real-world adoption rather than relying solely on future potential. That said, not every company benefiting from the AI narrative will justify its valuation.

History suggests transformative technologies often create both genuine winners and speculative excess. AI could reshape industries for decades, but that doesn’t mean every AI stock is a good investment at any price. Focusing on fundamentals—earnings growth, competitive advantage, and sustainable business models—is likely to matter far more than simply investing in any company associated with AI.
